Hi I'm a newbie to this board as we have decided that adoption would be the best way for us to create our family.

So looking for some advice on questions people felt where useful when having the initial chat about adoption with a charity?

We are looking to start the process early
Next year as currently trying to get our house decorated etc.

We contacted Barnados as after some research feel they would be the best fit for us and a lovely lady is calling tomorrow to answer our questions, but I was wondering if anyone had questions they wished they had asked etc that might help?

Do they think they can match you with the child you would like to adopt? (age, sex, number, ethnic origin, background, SN etc)

Can they assist with the type of child you're looking for? We had to go with our local authority in the end as most of the charities and agencies were only looking for parents who would take on children who were older or had additional needs
