FYI - On Monday the legislation changes to include Adopters and Fosterers rights to flexible working. (Hope I have used the correct terminoligy )

Quote from Hegarty & co employment law web site -

"Adopters included in Flexible Working Regulations - the Flexible Working (Eligibility, Complaints and Remedies) Regulations 2002 extend the definition of ?adopter? to those who are adopting a child, whether domestically or intercountry, where the child has not been placed with those adopters by a UK adoption agency. They also add definitions of 'adoption agency', 'private foster carer' and 'residence order'. In addition, the Regulations add private foster carer, and the spouse, partner and civil partner of a private foster carer, to the list of those people who are entitled to request a contract variation to care for a child."

Hope that is of use to some of you lovely lot!

astonishingly I hadn't realised that we weren't included. And thankfully neither had my employers!

I must admit we would include everyone at our company too - but I know there are some skinflints out there with no compassion!
