Trying - TV show about adoption

Has anyone seen that there is a new TV show called Trying about a couple that adopt? I think it's a comedy. We saw it advertised but couldn't work out what channel it is on??? Doe anyone else know anything about it? Wikipedia suggests it's been made by Apple TV(??) with the BBC burning cant find much online!

It's on Apple TV, which I don't have. The trailer looked like it might be good but equally might be awful entertainment over actual real life. I can't comment beyond that as I've only seen the trailer.

I was thinking the same.

I got a 7 day trial of appletv and watched ‘Trying’ over the last few days. Having watched Instant Family, I was looking forward to it because I thought it’d give people more of an idea of what the adoption process is like this side of the pond. It is a comedy and I like the lead couple. I was a little disappointed as they seemed to just touch the surface and they could have delved a bit more on some issues.

I have approval panel coming up and this series would put me off it as they made the panel seem very daunting and it did not feel like the social worker had done a complete assessment. It’ll be interesting to see what others think once you’ve watched it.

A second season has been commissioned so we may get to see more of them.

Is the whole series available on Apple TV now then?

We watched Instant Family (using our 7 day free trial for NowTV) last night, it was good, only shed a couple of tears!

The whole series is available on Apple TV, the episodes are about 30 minutes so won’t long to get through.

I enjoyed Instant Family, I know it's very American but I think there are some themes that resonate (splitting, blocked care). I also think some of the black humour in it (the scene in the bedroom when the parents are chatting springs to mind), feels weirdly theraputic after a tough day.

I've just watched trying and while I found it amusing and thought there were some relatable moments it doesn't focus a lot on the actual adoption process really.

Definitely worth a watch on the free trial.
