Getting married

Hi all
My partner and I are in stage 1 of the adoption process and we are getting married next week. It's very very low key, no one knows except our two witnesses. We will just tell people afterwards. We only decided to get married 6 weeks ago as it felt the right thing to do before adopting. We have been in a stable relationship for almost seven years and have a birth child together, so not likely to change much but just wondered if this is likely to cause any issues with our application?

I wouldn’t think so, most SW would understand you wanting to be married for all the sane reasons people often get married before ttc. Congratulations and all the best for your wee big day.

Getting married generally only causes an issue because of the time, effort, money and stress that can be involved in organising one. Sounds like yours has been well thought about and won't cause those kind of problems. Enjoy your day.

@Italiangreyhound they will be there yes. He is also a bit put out that we both have new rings and he doesn't so I have bought him a faux leather bracelet to give to him when we get our rings 😂

That sounds lovely. I am sure it will be fine just tell your social worker especially if you or your partner change names.
