So my LO who's 22MO, adopted at 9MO has become super clingy, especially in unfamiliar situations. I know it's perfectly normal and I'm not especially worried (she's very gutsy when she wants to be and happy to practice new physical skills etc) but I just wondered if anyone has tips how to deal with it therapeutically? She will literally refuse to leave my arms and I'm all for cuddles but it's physically impossible to carry jer around for so long. Today we visitted my new work place which involved me walking round and up and down several flights of stairs with her in my arms. I love you to the stars kid but you're killing me Grin

I wonder about a sling - some are suitable up to this age

Hippy chick carrier I think also good?

Tula toddler in a back carry, then she can be with you all the time but you can get on with life

Sling is a good idea. Pouchlings make preschool or custom size ones and are beautiful. Or yes plenty of brands with off the shelf toddler/preschool sized carriers now. They transfer the weight to your hips so it doesn't hurt your back.

I was coming on to say sling too! I run a sling library and often have people referred by the local adoption and fostering boards for carriers. If you want me to find your local sling library just message me with a rough idea of the area where you live.

Another vote for a baby carrier. I liked the ergo as it I could put her on my back, hip or at the front, and it always felt secure and safe. Also for those times when you do want/need to put her down, maybe make a comforter/taggy for her out of one of your old t-shirts so it smells of you (or buy one and sleep with it for the same reason.)
