So we are on the very start of our adoption journey and are also hoping to move house if the right one was to come along. Have mentioned moving house on the initial visit and will either do it before the end of process or wait until kids are settled depending how long it takes. How much sorting out did you do in the house while going through the process? cant have cutter when kids arrive i am sure they will make their own mess but better sort some of ours out!!

We moved before starting the process as advice from SW's and research was that moving house with a child who had already had such traumatic moves could be very unsettling. A child forms attachment to their new home fairly quickly as a place of safety and familiarity, breaking that, especially in the first few years can be very difficult for the child.

Move before, I moved in April, my son had been with me around 2.5 years and he was a few months shy of turning four. He found the transition to a new home really difficult, I had no choice but to move, if I did I would have stayed put for quite a bit longer.

Well it looks like we have some preparation in terms of getting our house ready to sell but I have a painter booked for 3 weeks time. She will do some rooms I'll do others. Hopefully be ready to sell by end of march. There are a few 4 bed places just a matter of if they are still around when we are ready. Our 3 day adoption course is at the end of march. So could be six months from then until approval if all goes well ??
