What is the situation regarding fostering to adopt allowances and payments?

Does anyone know how much this might be?

When I did this it was £500 to buy initial equipment and £165 a week for the fostering period.

Settling in was about £500 (with evidence of what I'd brought) & then approx £300 every 2 weeks. £70 of that allocated to be used for the child. Remember you won't get child benefit so this is sort of instead of that.

Thanks both!

Just trying to work out money if this did happen.
BM is pregnant again, and as we adopted the last child I’m wondering if they may do it this way if baby does go into the system.

Foster to adopt payments should be based on the core foster allowance ( approx £157 per week for a child under 3 basic needs) plus a fostering allowance equal to the LAs rate plus any payment ts relating to special needs, if applicable.

The LA should also consider salary matching if you have taken time off work to care for the child both pre and post adoption.

The details are set out in the adoption support regulations.

When doing F2A are you eligible for adoption/parental leave generally from work? Or would it be unpaid so foster allowance is the only income amount?
Sorry to hijjack OP!

@Mooey89 you are entitled to adoption leave from when the child is placed with you, meaning you receive payment from both your employer and from the fostering.
