I Think We Have A Link!!

Hi everyone! So we may have a possible link.....weve recently had the meeting with child social worker and weve been told the next steps will be an information sharing meeting, a bump into meeting and then matching panel before introductions and move in......
I'm just wondering what everyone elses experiences are with this and what sort of time frame/how long then process took before the children moved in?

We were approved at panel in December then forms shared in February, met family finder Sw in March then child’s Sw in May then further meetings before child moved in in October. I believe our experience was very slow. We had requested school holidays due to having a birth child who started school in August and didn’t want both to coincide. I heard others were weeks rather than months. Longest 9 months of my life!

@121Sarah121 wow 9 months! Like a pregnancy I guess, it already feels like it's been so long since the whole process started, I'm just so anxious and excited!

We had initial meeting in early July, info sharing meetings at start of August, matching panel end of August and intros started mid Sep. I think we were unusually quick though as little one had been in foster care for far too long and they just wanted to get him moved on.

How exciting! From where you are to getting LOs home, we were 2 months first time round and 2.5ish months second time round. Best of luck!

We found out about out LO end of July, had link meeting middle of Aug. Matching panel last week and Intros beginning of Nov. Good luck 🍀

Hey there it's very individual but from my experience talking to adopters most appear To go from link to move in within around 3months but can be shorter or longer depending on amount of complications so obvs not gospel. We were linked in late July, formally matched in August, some visits and meetings throughout August/September, matching panel mid October and intros begin early November. Xxx

Email about possible link in early April. Intros end of May, moved in beginning of June!
Was super quick.

In our case it took about 3 months from the social worker first visiting our house to the children moving in with us! It didn’t really take long, but it felt like forever! :)

Ours was relatively quick I think - approved at panel in June, expressed an interest in our LO literally the day after, met his SW in July, medical advisor meeting and then meeting with him at foster parents house in August, approved at panel in early October, then intros started late October and he was living with us by the end of October! It’s a whirlwind so enjoy yourselves between now and then!!

That sounded terrible... not that you won’t enjoy yourselves after LO is placed, just enjoy your current life in the meantime!!
