Update: life after adoption

Many of you may know my journey so far, it hasn’t been an easy one.

In the last few weeks I’ve had a few things change. My contract at work has been changed- I’m now all year round and I got a pay rise with it I’m very proud of how far I’ve come in the role I am in- I started as a temp 2 days a week and I’m now full time permanent!

Secondly and a massive step for me- I managed to find a housing Association I could directly refer myself to and last week I got an email to say I was being offered a studio flat of my own. I’m so happy.

It’s hard to think 7 years ago I was suicidal and thought I had nothing left to live for. Today, I see the world has so much to offer. I hope I’m making both of my parents proud of me.

Well i don't know all of your story but that is a great update. Well done on coming so far and overcoming so much. No mean feat !

Oh, Miracle that is wonderful news. I hope that you settle into a nice place. Establishing independence once your children have been adopted is difficult and I think you have done so well.

Glad things are getting better. Do you know when you will view and move?

I have seen a similar studio. (I was invited to view 2 during August) so I know what it’s likely to be like. I haven’t got a move in date as it’s having a new bathroom and kitchen fitted.

That's quiet normal. I know from experience though you can move quite fast once you get the call. I have been living in my flat for a year but I was amazed at the speed of the move. I think it was 12 days from hearing I had the place to moving.
