Hello lovely ladies. Some of you will know me and know my story.

My mum died shortly after care proceedings and was an only child, so I can’t get the answers from her as that would have been most logical.

My dad died when I was just over a year old so have no recollection, so I’ve been searching as I know he had 2 sisters, 1 died late teens and the other I know my mum used to write to at Xmas whilst I was growing up.

I’ve managed to find that my dads sister is still alive much to my surprise and now want to trace her if possible. I know where abouts she lives, town etc. But have no address for her and it’s far to travel to get to paper records. She is aware of me and my older sibling who I’ve been no contact with since before mum died.

Is there any free sites to search. I’ve already tried 192 but it’s premium results only.

I wanted to see if I could get some insight into my dad not only for myself but for my son too. My aunt however would be quite elderly (early 80s) so I would like to be sensitive and gentle with her.
I was also hoping to hear that her niece is doing well would be a welcome letter, and an updated photo of me too - mum always said I had my fathers eyes and temper!

Thank you in advance
Flowers

I assume you already searched Facebook for her name and came up empty handed.

Join done buy swap sell groups and community noticeboard groups on Facebook for that town. Search through the members to see if you can see her name there.

If you can't find her then post in those groups that you'd like to find her. She or one of her friends or family members might see it and tell her.

(You might think an 80 year old might not be interested in using social media but you'd be surprised - My grandmother used it right up until she died aged around 90 and my other grandparents, or at least my grandmother on behalf of my grandfather use it and they are around 80 and 90 years old)

Hello tigerquoll I have looked on Facebook but not been able to find her before as I didn’t know her Married name- but I do now. I have done a join request for a couple of the local groups but not sure I want to put it out their publicly I am looking for her as I am not sure how I would feel if my son did that for me.

I have found someone who might be her and I have sent a short message to her 🤞🏻
