I'm turning 35 September. Had cancer in my late teens early 20's and had to have a hysterectomy so I have no womb however because I was so young they left my ovaries in . one thing I always wanted to be is a mother. I just dont know where to start. My sister was going to be my surrogate but on her second and last pregnancy which resulted in me becoming an Auntie to a gorgeous bubba it got bad real bad and now cant ask her. I just want to be a mum but I dont know where to turn as everywhere needs payment before I can even talk to people who have been through something similar. Hope someone can help.

I'm sorry for what you've been through. I didnt want to leave you without a reply. I wondered, you mentioned adoption in your thread title, but not in your post. Would it be fair to say surrogacy is currently the route you are exploring? Fair enough if so, but I think there's a surrogacy section on MN where you might get better advice. Anything you want to ask about adoption though, go for it, or have a search through the existing threads.

The best thing to do is to call a few adoptopn agencies and attend their information evenings. They don't cost you to attend.
You should also try and research things like attachment, developmental trauma, FASD etc.. Many adopted children will have some level of additional need. Adoption is not an easy road, the children can be very challenging so you need to understand what you are getting into.
