Enhanced DBS timescales

Afternoon!

I just wondered what everyone's experiences were of the DBS check? Our agency wanted ours submitted in paper form which I thought may be subject to a longer processing time. If you did yours recently, how long did they take to come back?

Thanks in advance :)

Mine took under 2 weeks last month but it was online and a renewal (so they only went back to the date of the last one. My first one took 3 months because I had lived overseas

Typical experience for the ones we process at work is 4-8 weeks. Depends on how busy the service is to be honest. We’re swapping to an online system at work because it’s delaying our volunteers going out unfortunately.

Thanks both- will have to just suck it and see I guess! I don't want to appear impatient by asking my agency for my form tracking number to track the application myself!

mine has just came back via post (no email as i was previously told by sw) it has taken a very long 12 weeks! i have never lived abroad and havent moved house much either.

i was given a tracking number when i applied online but this had just said it was my local police for at least 10 weeks.

i got advised its just a busy time of year with new jobs starting in september and alot of students now need them sorting for then too.

sadly its just a waiting game and it seems everyone has different timings x

I’d certainly ask for the tracking number op, they should have given you this when you competed the form.
