Mid intros

Hi, just a question about the length of introductions. We have been given 2 weeks and are 4 days in now and if totally honest lo would move in with us now if given the choice lol. Our mid intro review is middle of next week! 🙄 Has anyone managed to have theirs shortened as it's really upsetting for lo when we leave and we feel it could be causing unnecessary stress if we have to see out full 2 weeks. We understand these are professionals but there shouldn't be a template to suit all and should be assessed on a child by child basis really.

It wasn't about getting the answer I wanted to hear at all, I was asking about intros being moved forward plain and simple. It was moved forward and with total agreement with everyone on board that was involved making that decision. Lo has been with us now in our home and has settled amazingly, not to say challenges won't arise but just because lo is an adopted child doesn't mean there are set issues that can't be dealt with by a non experienced adopter/social worker etc. It's just being a good reader of the individual and adapting to their needs as best as you can in your environment. Every child is different and no one is more experienced than one dealing with the child at the time.

@topcat2014 "I cannot say I am looking forward to this at all." hey Topcat, try not to worry. Our intros went very well and were actually very pleasant. We were very lucky that the foster carer was lovely and did a brilliant job.

So try not to worry, it must be coming up soon. All the best.

jellycatspyjamas your advice was very clear and well said.

OP I wish you the best with the adoption.
