Hi I am new to this forum and I am thinking about FTA and would like more information please. I do not have any of my own children and after years of failed IVF I would like to adopt. Can you FTA as new adopters and is there an age limit .

I've not done FTA. The best thing to do is to contact some agencies, attend some info evenings and explore whether adoption is for you.
All adoption is a risk, adopting a new born or very young baby does not eliminate that risk.
FtA does however carry additional risk. What it means is that the plan for the baby is not finalised and the court processes which free for adoption are not completed. It carries the risk that the child could do back to the birth parents or another birth family member if they come forward.
You may also find yourself facilitating contact one or more times a week with the birth family. It's not an easy option.
