Waiting on child's social worker reading our PAR

We have read a child's CPR and are very interested. We think it could be a really strong match. The child's social worker has now been sent out PAR and I am just so nervous. What if she hates us? She has seen out linkmaker profile and seems keen but I don't want to get our hopes up. Just looking for a hand hold. The waiting really is the worst part of this process.

I agree the waiting is horrible! Our social worker told us that they wouldn’t send a child’s CPR unless they were confident that it would be a good match. For us they had our PAR for a week and were due to shortlist prospective adopters by a certain date. Finger crossed for you!

It is nerve wracking, but it does all sound pretty hopeful. Best of luck.

We've found matching process the hardest part of the whole shebang so far (matched in December originally, SWs pissing around until March, matching panel cancelled 3x). Sending you positive vibes the waiting is awful

Thanks everyone Our SW is off until Tuesday now (the joys of part time working) so will keep busy over the weekend and try not to think about it (whilst obviously constantly thinking about it!)

There always seems to be so many holidays or days off 😂 A week can feel like a month, a day like a week. Keep positive and busy!

I’m waiting on a home visit in two weeks and everyday just seems to last forever, can’t focus on anything.

For us, our LO could be joining us in August, which will be just under 2 years since our ROI.

Thank you @poppet31 I’ve found doing silly things like filling every day in your diary with something to so aside from work like seeing a friend for coffee etc helps! There’s something about physically writing an activity down for each waiting day I’ve found quite therapeutic. 😬

Hi Hoola. We've actually just found out that the form was only in fact sent over this morning (miscommunication - don't ask!) so no news as yet and probably not any time soon. Thanks for asking. Will be freaking out anytime the phone rings!

Well I hope you hear something next week and manage to try and enjoy your weekend. It’s so hard not to wish the time away when we are waiting to hear something but it’s important we remember to enjoy ourselves still 😊 ........she says ......... having just re-read emails etc 🤣

The child's SW wants to visit us! hopefully in mid July, just trying to iron out the details and work around holidays etc. Trying not to get excited as we're still waiting on ADM decision (see other thread.). But it's a positive step forward.
