Timeline - matching panel etc

So, after a few weeks of radio silence, we have a matching panel date.

Can someone talk me through the timeline with regard to introductions. Obviously they cannot be until after matching panel, but is the intention that they follow on quite soon - or is there a period of a month(s) between?

there is no set time, they will try and do them as soon as possible but there may be practicalities to consider such as FC commitments. In our case I asked for a delay to avoid Mothers day in the middle and so I could attend some training specifuc to our situation. There could be planning meetings, visits to school, meeting birth family etc, if you are out of county then diaries can be a bit more awkward.
I had tons of things to do and meetings to attend but even so panel was 5 March and intros started on 28 March.

There were 2 weeks inbetween panel and starting intros. Intros had to be delayed because the decision from panel wasn’t adjudicated (not sure if that’s the right word) in the correct time frame - and so they had to chase and chase and chase.

We kept work up to date but I couldn’t start my leave until I had the matching certificate and I only had that the day before the introductions started.

It’s such a long game! I’ve followed your posts about waiting and I completely understand why you get annoyed by things like the silence. Good luck - and I really hope it all goes well for you

@moomooboo the funny thing is it is all so 'stop start', as in nothing happens for weeks and then, all of a sudden, it is "we can do Tuesday next week!" on a sort of take it or leave it basis.

We do of course take it :)

Wow Topcat great news! No experience I'm afraid as our matching panel has now been cancelled a few times but when it was due to go ahead we would have had approx 2 weeks between panel and intros starting.

You're so right about the stop start thing!

@serenity45 how gutting for it to be cancelled. Not sure how I would cope with that - !!

Usually around 10 days after matching panel here for introductions to start.
