Cafcass - role in non-care proceeding cases

Hi all
We have applied to adopt a relinquished baby and we have a court date coming up. A friend recently asked us if a Cafcass SW has been assigned. We know that a Cafcass guardian is assigned in care proceeding cases but didn't know if anyone from Cafcass needs to be involved given its not a care proceedings case? Cafcass were involved in working with the birth mum to ensure she fully consented to the adoption but have not been involved since. We are adopting via a very dysfunctional LA so we're worried in case they have missed something. Does anyone know more? Thanks in advance!

In our case lo was relinquished. Cafcass met with birth mum, checked she understood and consented. That's all they did.

Thanks Cassie - that is helpful. Sounds the same as our experience so far so hopefully that is all that is needed from them.
