Hi Smile my husband and I have approval panel this week. We're pretty ok with the idea of panel and as confident as you can be that we should be approved but my question is this.....what happens after approval? Are you just sent home to wait by the phone or are you told a timeline of what may happen or ............ our social worker hasn't told us anything about it Confused any stories greatly appreciated. Thanks 😁

You should be told on the day. I waited for my turn to go in, left, SW went back in and was out 5 minutes later with the decision. Most people I know had a similar experience

Thanks! Do you go straight into matching after the approval decision or is that booked in for another time? I know things get paused at this time of the year but generally what happens between approval panel and the start of matching please?

Have you got a match already ? If not then sw will start to family find for you as soon as the adm has ratified the decision. Takes a week or two normally.
If you already have a match you can have both panels one after the other . We did that as we were adopting our foster child . It was a good day !

Well, we had panel on 15th Nov. Fully expecting to be "approved' and told on the day.

In the end, we had a split decision (all approvals, but some with "conditions") so needed to wait for the agency decision maker.

9 days later we got the letter to say the ADM had approved us.

As regards 'matching', we are just sitting and waiting to hear anything now. Like everything else in the last year, things move quick, then stop...

Realistically not expecting anything to happen till after Christmas, but who knows :)

We got a phone call 3 days after panel to say ADM had ratified the decision, and also they had a potential link for us. We were sent CPR and decided against this link for various reasons, and attended a family finding event a few weeks later (coffee morning to look at profiles). We has another call about 6 weeks after panel about the baby who turned out to be our son. Felt like the longest 6 weeks ever but also was incredibly quick. Felt like we were in limbo with no idea whatsoever if we would get a call in a week or months or whenever.

DS moved in 3 months after approval panel, two weeks after matching panel (which was the week before Christmas).

Are you just at the end of your first year? Christmases must have a bit of a double meaning now for you?

Good luck for panel. You will know panels decision same day, ratification is a few days later.

It can feel a bit empty after approval as it’s been such a busy time getting to this stage and now you just have to wait. If you can be proactive ask your SW about LinkMaker and access to the children who wait section.
I booked holidays and tried to keep busy. Your heart will skip a beat everytime your SW calls you.

We waited 13 months after panel to hear about our boy. In that time we didn’t see a single profile. He came home 3 months later.
Go out, drink, party, holiday and email your SW every couple of weeks.
Hopefully you won’t wait too long.

We were approved 2 weeks ago and SW coming out this week to discus potential link.
