Just in case it helps anyone struggling in the early days of placement @Joy121 I was thinking of you. I so wish I knew just how it was going to work out. My story is not your story and only you and your family can make your own tory but I hope this helps a little.

That’s so beautiful, Kewcumber. My eyes might just be leaking a little.

‘a 980gr 26 week preemie’ - wow, that’s so teeny! He’s such a handsome boy, isn’t he?

Ilovedotcotton · 02/11/2018 15:33

I’m a regular here btw, but have name changed - again!

Kewcumber · 02/11/2018 22:19

Frankswife87 · 03/11/2018 20:20

Happy birthday!

OurMiracle1106 · 04/11/2018 11:01

Awww kewcumber that’s so touching. I am sure you are an amazing mum and I very much hope you know you ARE his mum. Maybe not by blood but by love and that is so much more important. I am in awe of the amazing parents on here who not only put their child first but also have compassion an empathy for their birth family

Thank you so much Flowers

Kewcumber · 07/11/2018 16:14

I have empathy becasue his birth family or birth mother at least are worthy of empathy - she really did very little "wrong". Whether I could be as magnanimous if the situation were differnet I'm not sure... not so amazing as you might think! But thank you for the sentiment @ourmiracle1106

Congratulations on your family birthday. We don't celebrate adoption day with either of our DC, mostly because I have a totally shit memory for dates so they're lucky that I remember their birthdays (I quite often forget my birthday and DH's, the DC know I'm rubbish so they remind me from about three months beforehand to organise presents/party). Grin

Kewcumber · 07/11/2018 18:24

@BlackAmericanoNoSugar it's easier to remember only having one and also I left the UK on halloween with other people adopting on the same day in the same place. So if one of forgets the other reminds! Grin

Oh and we don't exactly celebrate it - more like commemorate and just do something low key just the two of us like dinner or afternoon tea. But it is always a time of reflection for me.
