Hi , me and my DH are new to this process! We have started stage 1 and are going to be starting on our personal profiles which seem quite daunting, can anyone offer any helpful advice for completing them? Thanks

Hi there.
I'm not sure if this will help at all but I've just looked through my old notes and this is what I found from my SW to help me pull mine together

1. CHILDHOOD AND TEENAGE YEARS

Include where you were born and brought up, whom you lived with, family member’s etc.
What are your memories of those years?

How would you describe your parents/guardians; their personality and temperament.

What kind of relationship did you have with your parents, other family members and friends?
What are your good and bad memories of your childhood? What would you want to repeat from your childhood and what would you want to do differently?
What kind of schools did you go to and what did you think of them? Did you experience bullying?
What were you like as a teenager?

2.ADULT YEARS

To include details of any further education/training, qualifications, work/unemployment, interests hobbies. Include things you enjoy and have enjoyed in your life. Include any difficulties you have had to cope with and how you have come through them.
How do you consider your upbringing has influences who you are today?
How would you describe yourself now and how do others see you?
Describe your personality, and temperament.
What do you enjoy, what do you dislike doing?

How do you react when you are angry?
What do you do to relax and alleviate stress?

What behaviour in children and adults do you find it difficult to tolerate?

Good luck with your journey
X

I don't recall putting this together - maybe our LA is different?

We did a workbook, but it wasn't particularly freeform.

But it has all blurred together over the last year.

@finchborn thank you, that's really useful

Frankswife87 · 22/10/2018 00:54

@finchbon thanks for the helpful advice, we are getting on much better with putting our personal profiles together! I'm also looking forward to our upcoming training 😁

Great news. Happy it helped.

Hello everyone,
Many thanks for this thread. We have just had our first visit from the SW, looking to begin stage 1 soon.
Very nervous and hope we will learn and feel more prepared in the coming months.
Shalom x

Wow well me and dh just did our first day course on Saturday! It was hard work but it was a good experience, we're looking forward to our next training day. Just tying up loose ends now chasing references etc, our dbs is still being checked online and it's taking a while. I can't wait to get the chance to start stage 2 😬
