Step child adoption advice

My husband of 4 years is wanting to adopt our 13 year old daughter from a previous relationship. My ex hasn't had any contact for almost 4 years and his last words to her were that he didn't want to see her any more. I have 2 younger children to my husband and my 13 yr old has been asking for the last 2 years for her step dad to adopt her. Also recently we have been talking about moving to Canada to live, our 13 yr old really wants this too but without adoption we can't. Tomorrow we have social services coming to see us to start the adoption journey. Should I mention Canada or should I not? I don't want to risk our chances of getting this for our daughter as her happiness is more important to us then Canada...any advice would be greatly appreciated x

I don’t see why you need to mention Canada. If you can’t do it anyway without adoption then you won’t be going until after the adoption goes through legally and as a family you can do what you like then. The adoption and Canada are two separate issues so concentrate on adoption first and then move forward with Canada. Don’t know much about step child adoption but wish you all the best with that.
