Agency closing

Has anyone experienced their adoption agency closing early in the placement? Ours is going into liquidation soon and we don’t know how worried we should be about this. Do you still get the support you need from the child’s LA? Or are you always last in line for support as the VA had been paid to do this.

Do you still get the support you need from the child’s LA?

The placing LA funds support for the first 3 years, after that it is the LA you live in. VAs are never actually obligated to provide support; though most do, it is usually of a different nature to LA support- helping navigate the system, access funding and providing additional training. The actually big funding for something specific would always have had to come through the LA.
