Panel book

Hi all, we have panel in a months time and I have brought the book of which we will use. However it now needs filling and was looking for ideas. Do we introduce our family to panel as ‘mum and dad’ or our names or family name. I guess I would like some more clarity on if the book is for panel members or should be aimed at a child? I planned on putting pictures of the house, us, my husbands children, dog etc but has anyone else got any good ideas? Thank you

Is this panel for approval or for matching?

Panel approval. :)

Hi maybe check with your social worker to see what they're expecting. We've adopted twice and each time we weren't asked to produce a book until after matching panel and meeting with the foster carers.

That meant we could setup their bedrooms to reflect characters/themes we'd been told they were interested in, and with a bed or cot similar to the one they were already in. If you're creating a book without a particular child in mind it wouldn't be that specific.

It can't hurt to ask though. Good luck with panel! Thanks

Sorry, in answer some of your actual questions! - the book was very much for the child themselves, for the foster carer to use with them just before intros started. We included photos of us, the cat, older sibling for DC2's book, their bedroom, the bath full of toys and bubbles, our cars and the garden with outdoor toys. This was for toddler/baby age DCs.
