Well there we go. Online application submitted to our chosen agency. Tried to call but no answer so now a wait to see if they contact back this week (says 2 days but we'll see!). After all this build up feels strange a click of a button and a short form is all it comes down to. Anxious but excited about the road ahead. No point to this post other than to share and a call out to any other newbies if you want to link up. Hope all is well. Thank you for all your help and advice over last few months while we prepared xxx

Hello (waves!)
I had my first meeting a week ago and am now patiently (not!) waiting for my home visit!
Really nice to be in touch with others who are about to start this journey- hopefully we will be able to support each other.

Good luck with your application (I'm sure you don't need it). I remember that feeling of excitement.

Hi, We're in a similar position. Been to the info evening and now we're waiting for them to come and visit us at home. Apparently that will take about three hours! What will they ask/talk about for that length of time.....?

Cassie9 · 29/05/2018 19:48

My initial home visit was awhile ago now. They had a little look around the house. It was really informal. Our social worker explained the process. Talked about the children that come up for adoption. Tried to get to know us a little. Asked why we wanted to adopt. If I remember rightly there was some paperwork too. I'm sure it'll all go great

Yes we've been told 2 hours so not sure what to expect. Panicking about what they will think of our house now doesn't look too great on outside n if they think our spare room is too tiny! Agh! How much panic DIY/tidying do I need to Do?!

I know!! I spent most of the weekend cleaning and tiding just in case the visit is at short notice but am now panicking it looks a bit too ' show home ' lol i am Defo overthinking the whole thing! ( where shall we sit... sofa or at table.. . Nice biscuits or home made something!!)

Rich tea or bourbon?! Hahaha. I'd go for shop bought biccies. More nonchalant. Homemade cake may have bribery undertones hahaha

Thanks. Well, I've got those chocolate covered ones (thick milk chocolate) and chocolate chip cookies. Perhaps I should also offer a sandwich as it may go on past lunch time?
