Intercountry adoption -USA

Just wondered if anyone has experience of intercountry adoption from America ?

Is there any particular reason why you are considering adopting from the USA?

Presumably you've radthis information?

I was looking into this too. I contacted someone from the website "adoptUSkids" who said that they are keen on international adoptions, but that they must come from the foster system, and so tend to be either over 8 yrs old, over 6 years old and part of a sibling group, or have additional medical needs.

I'm not sure if this rules out the system whereby a pregnant American women chooses adopters for her unborn baby and they get that child shortly after delivery.
This can be an expensive method of adoption because there is no health service to pay for the birth mothers medical care, social workers etc.

I'd be interested in hearing other people's experiences. Looking into it, it would seem that there are more children up for adoption in America as abortion is illegal in some states and the government provides less financial help to those on lower incomes.
