I have final contact coming up in a few months and my girls are going to be adopted. I want to buy them a keep sake each. What would you suggest?

my 13 year old still sleeps with a small teddy bear his birth dad gave him. It travels with us if we are away.

Or maybe a piece of jewellery - silver necklace or bracelet with their initials ?

A picture of you - or you together - in a special frame.
Our children are sad they dont have pics of birth mum/dad. We display the one they do have of mum ☺.

Something timeless like locket on a chain with a photo on. Slightly different one for both girls (assuming two but different for all girls if more).

I would do a small washable soft toy and a piece of jewellery and definitely yes to lots of photos of you together

I feel like a special soft toy maybe a build a bear with special message recorded !
Me being clumsy would loose jewellery and that would break my heart x

I'd suggest some kind of keepsake nice box / Jewellery etc rather a toy. What about a a name plaque for their room, you can make one easily out of Lego pieces superglued onto a Lego base, it's a really nice way of you giving your child 'permission' to settle in their new home and this is an incredibly precious thing you can do for them. I definitely wouldn't record a voice message as from an adopters perspective I wouldn't have felt happy giving my son a toy with a voice recording, eventually it will run out and that could unsettle a child and not all adopters would be comfortable with it.. Take care of yourself

I think it depends on the age. For a baby, a soft toy they can take everywhere could be really beneficial, but please make it something easily bought in the shops in case of loss! Or even buy two.

Jewelry is lovely, too. They can keep it in their memory box until older. Maybe your favorite book as a child? Or something else you had, that they may like?

And a photo in a frame is a good idea, too.

Also, sorry, thoughts for you at this hard time, I cannot imagine.

I have decided on a necklace each which says "I love to the moon and back" for the girls to go in the memory boxes. I wasn't comfortable with a voice recording. I also was concerned that if I did a voice recording the adopters wouldn't let the girls keep it.
