Adoption Certificate

Boring question but...

DD’s adoption order was granted in September and we have just received a copy of it in the post.

Do I now need to apply for an adoption certificate (to replace birth certificate) or will it come automatically? Should I chase via the court or our social worker?

I got the short certificate in the post six weeks after the adoption order. It had clear instructions about applying for the long certificate which you can get in a week or one day if you want to pay a bit more.

I think it took almost exactly 6 weeks - my social worker told me to try contacting the court if it took longer.
