Jumping through hoops

Feeling so low at the moment...we are having to jump through hoops and not enjoying it one but.
Why do SS make things so hard ?

Just reaching out to the adoption community as cannot discuss in RL.

What kind of hoops? The process is pretty thorough and can feel like one string of conditions to meet after another but for the most part it's about making sure people really understand the challenges that come with parenting adopted children.

I know it's hard going - we had the longest approval process in the history of mankind, and the results are sleeping upstairs Smile

we have adopted 4 siblings over 10 years.....now being asked to consider another child....
SS making us jump through hoops for the legal side of things - I just wish they'd go away and leave us to it :( but not an option at the mo....

Boston are you considering a sixth child - a fifth adopted one? I thought you had closed the door. Are SS putting unfair pressure on you or are you considering it but fighting for info?

Rainatnight · 15/08/2017 10:31

Rant away, boston, we understand. Are the hoops jump-able?

bostonkremekrazy · 15/08/2017 13:22

thanks all, the hoops are jumpable yes, but irritating. its tiring having to go through the motions to keep SS happy

yes Hels20, we have been approached about at 6th child - we are happy to proceed and have been given all the information we asked for, but its legal loopholes and guardian issues really. We've turned our lives upside down in the last few months and at the 11th hour legal issues were brought to light which meant court was adjourned etc..

its taking so much time, and toll on our normal family life - especially as its summer hols and we just want to be with our children having fun.

Wow, Boston- you are certainly living up to the last part of your name. I thought I read you post about six months ago saying you were definitely "done"!!! Hope those hoops aren't too tight to jump through. Good luck.

Rainatnight · 17/08/2017 11:44

That sounds incredibly annoying and tiring, as you say. I'm literally counting the days till we get SS out of our lives so bravo for putting up with it again. Flowers for you and keep ranting if you need to.

Italiangreyhound · 18/08/2017 11:56

No advice but you are a saint! I struggle with two! Flowers

KC11 · 12/09/2017 22:21

italian i think you and i were in some trying to conceive threads in 2009. Is it you?

bellasuewow · 14/09/2017 16:32

It does grate op especially when you read your child's file and the amount of chances the birth family are given. Nod and smile op nod and smile

adoption2017 · 15/09/2017 08:35

Our friends couldn't wait to get rid of SS.

they had to jump through hoops too - even being given the line, "sell your house or you can't have your adoption order"...

Keep strong x

Congratulations to you all and welcome home baby.

How are the others taking it ?

bostonkremekrazy · 19/09/2017 21:43

they all seem good - very excited when he did the school pick up with me
they LOVE all his new toys Grin
they do not enjoy his (bad) table manners.....but are very patient with him, especially as we are telling lots of 'remember when you did x, y, z' stories Smile

OP posts:
Kr1s · 19/09/2017 22:59

I'm sure he will be a great hit at the school gate Smile

Best wishes to you all Flowers
