Intros - please tell me I'm not alone...

Day 4 of intros and my DC are the most beautiful things I've ever seen, they're funny and fun and high energy. But I'm knackered, feeling very wobbly and wondering why in hell I thought it was a good idea to turn my life on its head. Please tell me this is just par for the course and I'll feel better once we're all in my own home.

How are things now OP?

So much better thanks. We survived the rest of intros - which just continues to be hard going and last week was the DC first full week with us and was very hard work. They're grieving their foster carers and testing our boundaries but this week I feel much more calm about things. I'm finding ways to set boundaries around things like hitting, their systems are calming a bit - we managed some drawing and a family game for the first time which aren't big in and of themselves but my little girl in particular has absolutely no attention span so her feeling calm enough to focus on something for 10 minutes is brilliant.

I think there are still rocky roads ahead but I've survived this bit.

Well done! We had a LO placed in June. I would say that the first few weeks were a blur and every week feels more normal if you see what I mean!

I do, I feel much more normal this week than I did last week - I thought I was having a breakdown last week!

Hang in there! It is so, so tough, and weird, suddenly being responsible for tiny strangers...but one day at a time, it eases. I think a family game is a MASSIVE achievement Grin but mainly wanted to say well done for getting safely out the other side of intros!
