Hi All, we have our initial home visit coming up in August- any stories of first hand experience/tips/advice on what to expect? Thanks in advance!

Do clean and tidy as they will want to look around but do not be obsessive!

Get some nice biscuits in. Everyone says that, it's a bit of a joke!

Try not to worry, the whole thing will go quite well if you are calm, friendly and honest. Smile

Good luck.

If you don't have birth children Start thinking about child proofing, things like moving cleaning supplies into a high cupboard, having a locked medical box -ikea one is acceptable, having a fire safety check done - call your local fire station, it's free and they really like it!

Posh biscuits are a must! No one ever got approved to adopt on cheap biscuits 😂

For all home visits I would just say be open and honest and accept advice/feedback or requests to make changes as long as they are actually achievable. We had a really easy ride with it all and found SW's to be a good bunch right across the board. We were always just very open and straight forward about everything. They will want to discuss every part of your life. Every single bit..... be prepared for that.

I had a really good clean beforehand. Can't say SW noticed particularly but it made me feel better. Good luck!
