Hi, we had a successful FTA.

Didn't originally set out for the, was looking at siblings.
We got a telephone call and decided to take the risk with the very little info we had.

All has worked out well.
Im happy for you to PM me if you need any further info :)

Hi, thanks for replying just joined so have no idea how to PM will check this out. Were you waiting long before you agreed to FTA, we think its worth the risk and are very keen, also fed up with endless profiles that never come to anything,

There are quite a few threads on this - do a search as there is some useful insight on MN. It's a frequently asked question. (I would try and link but am not very good at that.)

we was approved to adopt at panel with already a few siblings in mind and 2 week later we got the call asking us would we consider FTA.

We took that risk with limited information about the baby health. We was briefed by our SW that it should be a straight forward FTA due to other siblings already being adopted. This is something you need to be very careful about, and that ALL avenues have been exhausted before you have been approached. Our SW was very good and would not of called us if she knew there would be that uncertainty.

The risk of a FTA is a likely newborn. As mentioned before, you will have no confirmed reports or medical information and its likely the CPR isn't even wrote.

There is lots more i could say however its quite a specific and an individual subject.
