Has anyone adopted in Cornwall?

Hello,

My partner and I are currently looking into me adopting their two children. The other parent is in agreement with this.
We received today some information on step-parent adoption. One letter states that you meet the criteria for adoption "if you are in an enduring family relationship", which to them is "2 years or more". It also states that the child has to have been living continually with you "for at least 12 months".
Another part of the information pack states the criteria as being "in an enduring family relationship" for "three years or more" and must have lived "continually with the child for at least three years".

I'm finding this rather contradictory and am wondering if anyone has had any experience of adopting in Cornwall? And which is the more accurate statement?

Thanks for reading.

Hi OP, the term 'enduring family relationship' has been tested in the courts for various reasons (people in the armed forces etc) and is open to interpretation. I've got to go out now but will come back to this. A bit more info about your living circumstances might be helpful.

Will PM you OP.
