SS are bloody useless!

DD came to us unsurprisingly with a few health problems. Her FC had taken her to 2 appointments at their local hospital (different county) and for one of those was told there would be a follow up in 3 months.
Now is that month and neither us nor FC have had any letters about appointments. So we spoke our GP who said there was no letter on the system and to ring the hospital and ask if an appointment was made.
It turns out such appointment was sent to SS but they have overlooked it/lost it/don't give two shits about it. We cannot be told when this appointment is, the info has to go through SS who unsurprisingly the hospital have been unable contact today. We had to take DD to A&E last week and couldn't even contact anyone on the emergency number. So very frustrating!

Hi

I had this exact issue, waiting for an important follow up appointment that was never requested, if FC hadn't mentioned it and I hadn't chased it every couple of weeks it would have just been left. SW was retiring and just kept telling me he had chased it but in the end found he had done nothing whatsoever and also hadn't ensured that DS had had his jabs which were now a year overdue. It also didn't help that DS was LAC in a different county to where we lived and his care was being transferred and no one would talk to me as they had FC as contact and SW never answered his phone...it's giving me the rage again just typing this!

My wonderful health visitor refered us into every specialist we needed in our county plus the head pead so he could help with further referrals.

Deep breaths and stalker tendencies got us through! Flowers

I did bring it up at the LAC review and asked for it to be noted, SW squirmed but the independent bod added various actions to the plan and ensured they got done.

Yes, the only way we got DD's child ISA details was the independent person pursuing it for us
