ADM wants a second opinion

We went to matching panel recently and were due to start introductions shortly. We received a call today from our SW advising that despite getting a unanimous yes at panel the ADM is seeking a second opinion. This is due to us going through a placement breakdown over a year ago due to negligence on the part of the placing authority. We feel utterly devestated that we are in this position. Hoping for the best but can't help but feel it's all going to go wrong again. Not really sure why I'm posting just need to vent.

So sorry to here that you are in this position especially as you are so close to introductions. It is devastating to feel that you are having the rug pulled out from underneath you and there is nothing you can do about it.Personally I have found the whole adoption process to be incredibly frustrating as so often something that is so important to you and your family is completely out of your control. The fact that you got a unanimous yes must surely be a good sign and hopefully the adm is just covering their backs. There is little point in telling you not to worry as I am sure you will struggle to think of anything else but I hope they resolve it soon and you are able to move forward and meet your child/ren. I hope it helps to know that a lot of us going through the process understand how you feel and are sending you positive vibes. If you can please let us know how it is going and in the meantime stay strong and best of luck.

I think I remember the breakdown. It sounded horrific and sounded like it was not your fault at all. I imagine you are probably nervous anyway and can't believe this is happening to you.
I am so sorry but I also am keeping everything crossed that this is just a formality and that it won't change the outcome.

Thank you for all your kind words. Still no news unfortunately. Finding it very difficult to think about anything else. I'm not sure SS realise the effect this is having on us. Just have to hope tomorrow will be the day.
