I have just had a phonecall to say that they have matched us with a little girl age 9 months and they want to move her before she is one!!!
OMG! I am so excited right now!!!
I don't know what to do with myself. They are coming out with a profile next wednesday and if we decide to proceed then things will move quite fast.
I cannot believe we were only approved last week!

Oh congratulations I am so thrilled for you! What a lovely exciting time for you. It's amazing how quickly things can go once approved. Years spent waiting and then within a matter of months it all comes together. I heard about my DD about a week or so after panel and she was home for good within 4 months. Crazy, scary and exciting times ahead! Congratulations

Thanks poppy. They said they are going to try and get is on the September panel for matching and try to get her home before her 1st birthday which is 3 months away.

I have everything crossed it all goes smoothly for you. In my experience some SWs can be a bit flaky over the Summer holidays and things can potentially be delayed so my advice would be to keep nagging gently prodding them to keep things moving. Best of luck with it all!

Many congrats! We are 2 weeks in to having 10 month old placed with us. We had 5 wks from phone call to intros! PM me if you want a list of everything a 9 month old needs...I have got a spreadsheet.

No offence intended to SWs mermaid - my own SW was ace. However, having matching panel and intros delayed over the Summer because of 'problems with printers' and because 'we don't normally schedule anything in August' is, in my personal opinion, a bit of a rubbish excuse for delaying a child's permanent placement.

I agree poppy . Along with " we don't normally schedule anything between 10 December and 10 January because of Christmas " , " hes on a course " and " she's on maternity leave and no one is covering her job " .

Plus the endless meeting that's they cancel at the last minute and rearrange a 4-6 weeks later .

Along with " the computers down " ( what for a month ) and , best of all, " the secretary's off sick so I can't reply to your email " .
