Did anyone do one I've those audio picture books? Has anyone done anything better? Or send a cheap children's tablet with photos and videos on it etc?

Adobe spark voice is quite clever, it's an app that put together picture book videos. You can export it as a video file and stick it on a dvd or something?

That sound excellent, we thought a tablet would be beneficial as we can load it with all our favourite books, pictures of us our home and cats and LOs bedroom etc and then add in sounds an videos. Then LO can watch and look and read as well as play little games. Have people done this? Adobe spark sounds great

Your tablet idea sounds good, except for your LO then ends up with a tablet which may not be so good. Obviously it'll depend a bit on their age but our 4yo was a nightmare with a tablet - it's hard to build attachment with someone who won't take their nose out of a screen!

if they're younger it may well matter less. If they're older it's maybe a fight you can live without in the short term.

I'm a foster Carer and our last child's new parents did the build a bear with a recording of them in it, we played with it during the day listening to the recording and she slept with it at night

LO is 4 and we did think of that, we will more than likely do a slide show on a dvd and then a printed photo book. It's hard to know what should go in and what should be said. We can ask the SW all that when we meet though. I'm so excited I still can't believe it's happening.

We included photos of everything we thought might matter to 4yo. Bedroom, sofa for watching tv from, someone preparing food, table set with place for him, bathroom and loo, garden etc. We used a doll in all the photos, kind of as a proxy for LO. He did actually go round house with book and check it was all as promised.

We didn't include other people.

Ah tldr I think I might have something in my eye at the thought of him checking your house, book in hand. Star
