We are coming to the end of our assessment and DH made a comment after our last SW visit that as they only ever ask what I have read/researched he is worried they may think he is less committed. DH has dyslexia and does not enjoy reading at all. He prefers videos/youtube videos etc.
Does anyone have any interactive resources he could look at? I have done alot of reading so it does look unbalanced on paper.

Hiya I'm really new to this forum but I had similar issues in that I read everything and anything and my DP didn't. There are a few really good YouTube videos by a lady called Suzanne zeedyk and also look up Bruce perry on YouTube. Suzanne zeedyk talks about brain development and I found she explained it in a way that was so easy to remember very interesting and Bruce perry talks about brain development and attachment. There are quite a few videos with him. I found that best way was after I learned loads we sat down and talked about it which helped my DP learn more.
Hope your process has gone smoothly. We were approved about 6 months ago and recently linked with LO

That is excellent thank you. The process has been okay. Nothing major setting things back just that we are an hour away from our LA which means it is harder to get appointments with them as they tend to be full day every few weeks rather than an hour or so a week.

Still a bit of reading but also audio clips and quizzes to check understanding. You can print off a certificate to show which modules you've done.

Aw that does make things a little more difficult. Our process took a lot longer than we had thought. Although we did enjoy the actual meeting etc it's always the waiting parts that I found most difficult. Plus we worried sometimes that my DP is so quiet and I'm a chatterbox lol. But it's all actually went massively in our favour as all SW involved have said that it's a good balance as we both bring different things.
Yeah I'm pretty excited now although just keeping my feet on ground waiting to hear about next steps. We've held back on buying anything at mo but are decorating LO bedroom which is fab to do now. Also been given loads of clothes by friends which is lovely to look through and it makes things more real.
The best bit for now for me is that I feel like I've chilled out a bit last few wks and really enjoying our time as a couple before that all changes

Our social worker recommend watching secret life of 45&6 year, old as it deals with children's development and how they interact with others. It's still available on all4

Daisy, not buying is so hard. My cousin has offered to do us a baby shower. I agreed but think they may struggle with gifts etc. Not that we expect them of course.

We've told our relatives to hold back till LO is home. But friends have been keeping things for us over last 2 yrs. The big stuff like cot bed, car seat, buggy etc everyone been soo kind.
A lot depends on age of LO. Have you said an age range? Ours was 0-2 so we knew that there were certain things we would defo need.
I'm desperate to get garden toys lol with it being summer. But because we don't know how fast or slow next stages will go we just make do with looking just now. Maybe it's just me that wants a paddling pool hehe

We have 3 yr old BC so under 18 months old. :)

Are you going to be primary carer op? You may find that sws won't be that bothered if you are. Of course your Dh will want to do his oown learning but it might not be a sticking point with Ss iyswim?

We are planning on splitting the leave so that DH gets plenty of bonding time.

Aw that's lovely ages of both I had a wee read of your post about baby shower sounds like a great idea.
