Waiting..

Hi.
Been approved now since November, I know it's not that long, but feels so much longer!😞. Can I ask, how long did some of you wait? How did you cope? I'm so fed up with living in limbo. We have a 7year old bc, would love to book up our summer holiday, but just know we can't yet. Guess we will if we haven't heard of anything progressing by the summer. She is really good, and doesn't keep asking about a new brother or sister. I just wish I had a crystal ball! Fingers crossed we may be matched with a little one soon. Just seems quite a wait at the moment..

Ah arielmanto I so feel for you!! Still waiting here, just over 6 months for us. It's just the 'living in limbo' I hate. Can't plan anything further than a couple of months ahead. Also same as you felt MintyLizzy9, everyone else seems to be getting on with their lives and mines just standing still, waiting! I know how you feel with birth announcements and pregnancy news too. My brothers just told us him and his are wife expecting again, and whilst you want to be happy for them, it's so hard to hear!! I want to be the one with good news too!! I do find it easier to keep busy. I find I get myself down if I'm not doing much and start thinking about it all too much. Keeping busy keeps my mind preoccupied a bit more.
We had a really good lead recently but then turned out that the birth family wanted to move to this area so we had to pull out. Our sw is very good and we have been to numerous events and meetings. You've just got to think it will happen and when it does it will be with the right little person. Try to not be so hard on yourself. Xxx

choccyjules I cannot believe you are still waiting. Are there any events you could go to? I am sure you have tried them all.

Mollybird We were approved and it took 5 months to be matched and another 3 for our son to come to live with us.

The waiting drove me crazy. It's the fact you don't know when it will end. If it's any consolation it fades away when your little one is here. Though someone told me the other day it had all been very quick and i could have happily strangled them. Nothing useful to add just

Thanks Daisy, after reading your post I realised we need to stop sitting back and waiting on the SW - This is no time to be coy! Fingers crossed for all of you at same stage as us. There's someone out there for us all..
