hi roisin

i don't really know what it is ... is it before legalities go through?

roisin · 09/12/2006 19:27

AQ No, it's long after legalities all completed. Basically all gone pear-shaped.

Anyone been through this?

Not personally experienced it but I have worked with teenagers (12-16) who have ended up in care when adoption has broken down.

Were there any particular qustions you wanted answers to roisin or was it more personal experiences you needed?

roisin · 09/12/2006 19:32

Could I CAT you Betty? I don't particularly want to discuss it on an open forum.

Of course you can -I'm not sure I'll be of much use but I'll help in any way I can.

roisin - your friend needs to join adoption uk. there are lots of other families who have been through this but its not easy to discuss on an open forum

I had two children placed with me with a view to adoption. They were with me for three years then their BM made application to have them back, which the Court decided was the best option (even though this has now broken down). Think about them everyday, miss them so much, even though it has now been a few years since they went. (I was formerly MANDYJ but I cannot get that Nickname to work for some reason). Tell your friend would you please Roisin that I really do sympathise with her and send her my very best wishes.

yorkshireWenceslass · 21/12/2006 16:01

roisin I have experience of this (not myself but close family).
I think we have spoken before on this subject a long time ago (my old talkname years ago was LouBeeLou, I don't know if you remember).
Feel free to CAT me & I'll help if I can.

Yes we had an adoption breakdown, two days before the children were due to move in with us. Absolutely heartbreaking. My sympathy to your friend.
