I'm not sure if this is the correct place to ask so apologies in advance if it isn't. My cousins baby is in care and I made an application for special guardianship. I didn't pass the viability assessment (because of my own children's fathers checks, he does not live with us and there are no concerns for my own children's welfare) however there are things written in the assessment that I do not agree with. I called the social worker and she told me there wasn't really any point in appealing against it. I received a letter from the children's services solicitor stating I have until Monday to let them know what I want to do. I have tried getting legal advice from solicitors but have been told I have to pay the initial £150 consultation fee then they will be able to see if I am entitled to legal aid. I feel I haven't been given a fair chance and I want to pursue it as far as I possibly can. Any advice on what I could do would be greatly welcomed.
