Is this a UK thing or American?

We used so much annual leave up on appointments it's crazy. However, while a step in the right direction, if you're a couple you both have to attend the meetings, so the fact only one is entitled to payment is a bit annoying, but hey, better than nothing!

That's fantastic. Bit late for us as my work place were really funny about the time off I needed.

DH & I are both employed by the nhs and so far both of us have had paid time off for appts (although we try to arrange them for the end of the day so minimal disruption. This policy is actually offering less than we already get
