Hi there, just wanted to know if anyone has joined Adoption Link on line and what you thought of it?

I have. We've made a few enquiries but all have been declined within a week of asking. I'm finding it quite hard being rejected so bluntly but realistically there are not many children and 1000's of adopters registered so I doubt they even look much at the profiles of all the enquiries they get.

We found our little boy through adoption link! I can't recommend it enough!

We enquired after any profile that sparked an interest with us and found it difficult not hearing or being declined. We had a couple of CPRs to read, and finally we stumbled upon our little chap. As soon as we read about him we knew he was the right one for us! Adoption link has a great system where you as the adopter can message the child's social worker directly - this really helped as we were able to really press our interest and ask questions directly as out social worker is not very proactive and can be kind of slow!

Join and see what happens! You have nothing to loose!

There are far more children on Adoption Link than CWW and BMP - and I read that even the adoption register only has 630 children at the moment. There are often updates on the AL facebook page - there was one yesterday: www.facebook.com/adoptionlinkuk/posts/361120290742439

Good luck!

We were looking for older children. None in our LA (despite them being desperate when we began the journey). Adoption link was great as it gave me back control when I was feeling my whole life was in the hands of the (crappy) SWs!!
We were actually approached by 4 LAs on our first day and had lots of profiles sent in the month or so we were active. Anyway we were finally matched with a sibling group from adoption link so I think it's fab!!
However, those looking for babies and young girls are struggling with the 'competition' so it depends on what you are looking for.
The forums are quite useful too. Not in a mumsnet supportive way but in an understanding how adoption link works way and also there's lots of support for those waiting - as pretty much everyone is!!

used adoption link too and found it a breath of fresh air! As a pp said, it gave us back control in the linking process. Our son (who came home in January) was on AL although we had had his profile sent to us by our sw too. We would definitely used it again!
