Hi, I go to panel next week!! getting nervous now, what sort of things are we likely to get asked please, and silly I know but what should I wear?? thanks x

Just wear something fairly smart.
My SW didn't like me at all but thought the sun shon out DH.
DH sent an email from my account (although with his name on the bottom) a bit tounge in cheek asking if shorts would be inappropriate for panel! She did not see the funny side and sent a rather long reply explaining why it would be inappropriate. She wrote my bloody PAR surely she would know me (and DH) better than that!
Anyway, there were no surprises. If they have any questions about the PAR you often get told the day before. We just had generic ones on the day 'how would you feel if the child attached to one of you but rejected the other?' 'What would you do if your child wanted to trace birth family at 18'

We had panel at the end of January. Was a lot easier then I expected.

We were asked 3 questions. The first was how do we think a child would change our relationship, what sort if child are we looking for to fit into our family and what do we felt we got from the training days.

I wore a long blouse with leggings has and flats, the OH worse jeans and a nice tshirt.

We were expecting two things to come up however neither of them did.

We dressed smart, but comfortable.

We were asked about our birth dd, my health (I am on a medication), and how we would feel if our adopted child did not become a Christian as we are, can't remember what else. Think there were five questions.

My questions were exactly what the Sw had told me all along they'd be. What would you do with your cats if child was allergic? Etc.. And I wore comfy but smartish clothes. I think unless your PAR has massive questions in it that they just want to meet you. My Sw said you might actually enjoy it and after a night of no sleep I thought never and then when I saw it was all going the right way and when panel cried with me I realised she was right! Try and enjoy it, after you'll be on cloud 9! And exhausted! Xxx

I read a really good thread which said you want to be thinking about what's happening and your future not how you wished you hadn't worn that scratchy blouse and stiff skirt. I wore leggings boots and a jumper dress/tunic, really simple but comfy. They're not judging your clothes sense! Good luck xx

We wore work clothes (suit; dress) because we both had work in the afternoon and we both felt comfortable in our smart gear

No trick Questions - all ones about what we thought the impact on DS would be; what we would do if they wanted to contact birth parents as teenager etc etc

We very recently passed pannel. We were asked;

How do I plan on bonding with child? (DH will be stay at home Dad)

What challenges will I face going to work?

What will I do if I am depressed again? what will DH do?

What do we think the best bit of being parents will be?

What challenges do we think we will have to overcome as adoptive parents?

I wore a smartish dress. DH wore trousers and shirt but no tie. We got very very nervous a few minutes before we went in, but there was no need we enjoyed it.

All of the questions we had been asked were ones we expected. We had been told we would be asked about the number of previous marriages my DH has had but did not get asked.

I cried DH cried and SW cried once when in the pannel and again when we got the yes
