Accommodation during introductions

Another thought that has been going through my head!...

For you guys who adopted a child out of county (from another LA) how did the accommodation during introductions get sorted out?

Did the LA book and pay for a hotel?
Or did you choose where you stayed, pay for it and then claim the costs back?

And finally, what about mileage to and from the FC's and during introductions? What was covered and what wasn't covered?

LA chose a self catering cottage for is and paid for it all. We weren't allowed to stay in a hotel.

Mileage to and from foster carer was covered. As was trip to put of area la and back.

Mileage for activities with DC during intros wasn't covered.

We were away for intros.
The LA sorted out and paid for the accommodation and the holiday let was so close to the FC that we really couldn't charge mileage but they gave us maileage for our numerous trips there and back from home to the meetings and intros retrospectively. Xxx

Yes, LA booked and paid for a self catering cottage. We paid travel expenses etc.

LEA paid for hotel. We paid travel and everything else.

LA paid for premiere inn and booked it all for us. We can claim back the milage too.

The LA of the child booked a holiday flat for us and paid for it. We paid for our own travel expenses, I think. I'm pretty sure that DD didn't have an overnight with us until we took her home, I think DS (who lived in the same LA as us) might have had a night with us before moving in permanently.

We used a VA.

As were says, it will depend on the placing LA.
