Tula* I chose a big A3 scrap book, plain pages, ring binder I think. The idea was to show we knew him, so we filled it with pictures of stuff he liked (or we thought he liked) e.g. animals, trains etc and said what we would do when he came to live here. Actually, some of what we thought he liked was not right and we did not end up doing everything but it is early days (9 months in).
Snuggly is a soft thing like a blanket or soft toy that you sleep with in the bed for a few days or weeks and then hand over to the child (via social worker and foster carer) so that your smell goes on the item to the child. I was advised to wash the item in our normal washing powder and fabric softener and have it in the bed with me (snuggle it) and then send it over. I did. He was 3 so a bit old as it is maybe more for younger children and babies.
We chose a blanket with his name, date of birth and a picture on it.
We said he could use it for anything, play with, snuggle with, dress up in etc.
There was a thread on it here, will try to find it.
