We're trying to put together our album as we have approval panel next month. The only thing is I'm stuck as to what to buy?? I know the pictures etc I want to put in but honest to god mind blank as to where we get the album from? Any help would be appreciated. I did try finding previous threads but couldn't locate any. TIA Smile

I loved doing my album! I bought a scrap book from hobby craft. It had a hard card cover was a4 but on a ring binder ish edge like this:

I then did ours on the computer on PowerPoint with the same background and the toy we'd slept with for him in each photo. I did little activities too like a velcro things, counting etc. I added stickers and left blank pages at the back for us to add stuff in when he came home.

5 months in lo still loves it!
Good luck

Ours is very much like dreamscometrue's. We bought it before approval panel but didn't start it as we wanted to tailor it to the specific child we'd get matched with. We have matching panel next week and we are only now starting on it. We waited till wed met foster carer so we knew what lo liked, fave colour, character etc so we have now bought stickers and things which we know they will like it to be decorated with.

Don't know if you have a branch of 'The Range' near you but they have a range of scrap books in there with a section for a photo on the front. You can also buy in there a pack of coloured paper that fit the plastic holders in it perfectly. This worked well as you can stick loads of stuff to pages like stickers as well as your photos and little hands don't damage the pages as in plastic....because they will look at it 100 times over! :) The book was 14.99 or 2 for £20. Now placed, we're making a book of relatives and friends they will eventually meet, so worth buying 2 for the saving! :)

We got a simple album from a local Chemist, then a talking Tomy one on line (butterfly one) and put same photos in each. Butterfly one for child and small Chemist one for the panel. I also did a scrap book of pictures to show the child we knew a bit about them (this was for matching panel obviously) and the idea was he would add to it once he came to live here. Five months on we have not yet added to it but we will. I got the scrap book from W H Smith. You cold probably get one in any photo shop, stationary shop or possibly a chemist.

We got one from paper chase online. It's kraft. Buff paper and large square. Feels nice quality and special.

We bought a self adhesive album from paperchase but I then made up the pages with pictures of our home etc on powerpoint and added little cartoon pictures and speech bubbles. We also got some stickers from craft store and added things to our hobbies page etc... We bought a toy for LO and placed this in some of the pictures around the house and made it a little like a 'where's wally'....as in what can you see in this picture. Then we passed the toy and the book along to the SW before our first meeting.
