And more recently some of you may have picked up on let's say some of DSs testing behaviours!

However, tonight was his first ever, huff, whinge & moan about bedtime. And I am delighted!!!! :-D

I know this is CRAZY and I do think on a regular basis I will kick myself for liking these moments, but for him to even display that kind of reaction is HUGE for him! He has spent the last year with an extreme need to please, exceptionally compliant. It is only just recently he has been displaying different behaviours in school and home. (Obviously not great!)

But I am taking this as hopefully he is feeling more secure. Fingers crossed we can help him over the years to manage and understand what is going on for him.

Just thought I'd share my strangely positive night :-/ :)

Ha! Good for your DS. I do know what you mean - in a weird kind of way I am delighted that DD has started to sometimes tune me out and ignore me! She used to be so cautious she would always stop and listen and watch when I spoke, worried about what was happening in her world. I am sure having to repeat myself will get old pretty quickly, but for now, I love that she's feeling secure enough to chunter along and not listen to me Grin

Thank you :) He's 5. He's definitely coming out of his shell more recently! It's lovely to see (and challenging at the same time!)

Sorry - of course he's 5, we had this conversation the other day. D'oh. My only excuse is not enough coffee Brew.

Mama1980 · 01/10/2014 21:44

Oh such great news buster Grin I totally understand what you mean. The day dd shouted in temper that she hated me I cried tears of joy.

GirlsWhoWearGlasses · 02/10/2014 07:02

That's great. You're obviously doing a brilliant job.

Adopters are a funny lot. I was so pleased when DD started to cry when she hurt herself.

Shockers · 02/10/2014 07:12

Girls, I scrolled down to type exactly the same thing!
