Just a post to say how well our adoption has gone in the first year, dd has truly enriched our lives beyond our expectations. It has been an amazing journey and we look forward to a lifetime of joy that a child brings, not only to us, but also the wider family.

We will obviously have some difficult conversations in the future about why her birth family could not care for her and keep her safe but I would 100% recommend it to anyone thinking of it ....

It's always a leap of faith and it's important to be truthful to yourself, your partner and your social worker about any concerns or doubts you have so that they can be addressed fully

Happy Monday Grin

Thank you for such a positive post - I feel the same way about DS who has been with us almost a year

Squigglypig · 29/09/2014 21:07

Thank you for the positive message, the end of stage 2 is not far off for us now and it's reassuring to read.

Chicklette · 29/09/2014 22:27

Great post! I feel similarly. We adopted 2 little uns just over a year ago and it's all gone really well. When I see them and us giggling and playing together I can't believe we are all so relaxed and happy (most of the time!). It was pretty stressful at first and who knows what the future holds but just now it's pretty fab!

How wonderful, thank you for sharing that uplifting message. Having a particularly disillusioned day today (still waiting for any potential matches) and this has made me switch a bit of my positivity back on. Thank you Thanks Smile
