Wanting to know whether I should take like a basket to the FC tomorrow...things like milk, bread, butter etc as we will be there for over a week...What do you think?

I think not needed, unless you are fussy. e.g. I take my special tea bags wherever I go. But do make sure you have snacks for when you take LO out and about.

Hope intros go well, don't forget to get SW or someone to take some photos of you.

You are staying with fc? Intense! Hope all going well. Fc should be able to claim any extra expenses during intros. Good luck!

Blossom talk to the foster carer before you come and see what they would like.

We visited ours for about 5 days in a row and had lunch there every day. We took fruit, drinks, cakes and crisps to add to the general 'buffet' style sandwich lunch we had daily. We didn't eat dinner there but did have a lovely cooked breakfast once.

It is best to arrange this beforehand, their fridge may be crowded and they may be happy to give you bread and butter but would welcome other items.

We took a basket of fruit. We aren't staying there but will be there everyday for 7 days. Most days includes food. They really liked the fruit basket and so did their children and it was useful for us to see what fruits our LOs liked.

Don't tell us about the fruit! Tell us about the children! How did it go?

I second Devora! Hope it is going well and not too exhausting!

Good luck!

Only the first day and it was brilliant. Got hugs from both LOs as we came in. Very tired though and it's only the first day. See what tomorrow brings.

Ah, that's nice to hear. Not surprised you're tired; it's one of the most draining things I've ever done. Take lots of care of yourself this week.

Italiangreyhound · 07/08/2014 00:03

Blossom get lots of fruit and vitamin C!!!

Hope it goes well.

slkk · 07/08/2014 21:36

Agree, intros by far hardest part of process so far. Good luck and hope it goes from strength to strength.

FamiliesShareGerms · 07/08/2014 22:59

Glad it's going well - take care of yourself and expect it to be completely knackering!

Today has been the best day so far. We got to take the boys out by ourselves for the first time and we all survived. It started to rain so we picnicked under a tree and stayed dry. The boys played up a little when we left because they didn't want us to go
