MPs who are adopters?

Or possibly who were adopted but preferably something to do with the DfE...
We are in need of some boots up some backsides for our DD.
Our own MP is on the case but we feel we may need some bigger guns - they will need to get another Department to cooperate.

Michael Gove, but sadly (for you) he's just left DfE. John Timpson (previously minister for children and families) is not adopted himself but raised in a family with adopted siblings and fostered children.

The new Secretary of State at DfE is Nicky Morgan.

John Timpson sounds perfect. Off to put him on speed dial email.
I think he's at a level where he might read something too, unlike Gove.

Have you been in touch with Martin Narey? Obviously not an MP but he is government advisor for adoption and does reply to emails.

It needs to be someone who can get a different government department to cooperate, he doesn't really have that clout.

Sorry sorry, John is actually his dad - of Timpsons cobblers/keycutting fame. Has adopted, and fostered many children, and written on attachment disorders.

Lord Adonis was taken into care at a very young age, but wasn't ever adopted as far as I'm aware? He dedicates quite a lot of time to championing children who have been in the care system so might be worth an email?
I think Oona King has adopted children as well - she sits in the House of Lords.

You might get a bit more luck with Lords, as they aren't as constrained by constituency boundaries - often an MP's office manager will just head off emails from out of constituency with info on how to locate your own MP.
